Assembled Flexible Circuits for the Automotive FPC Market

(Printed Circuit Boards are custom-made products, the picture and parameters shown are just for reference)

General Description

Our assembled flexible circuits are designed specifically for automotive applications, built on a polyimide substrate with connectors for USB wireless functionality. This product features a double-layer adhesive RA Copper (35μm) on a 25μm thick polyimide base material. The circuit is engineered to achieve 100 Ohm differential impedance, with track widths of 4.7mil and track separations of 7.9mil.

Two thicknesses of head stiffeners are used: one at 0.3mm FR-4 and another at 0.8mm FR-4 to support the connectors. The entire flexible circuit is devoid of silkscreen but features a yellow coverlay and immersion gold plating on the pads. Our base material is sourced from Shengyi SF202, and the boards are fabricated in accordance with IPC 6012 Class 2 standards using supplied Gerber data. Each shipment contains a pack of 80 pieces.

Components of a Flexible Circuit

A flexible circuit consists of:

Copper Foil:Available in two types:
ED Copper: Electro-deposited copper foil with a treated surface for improved adhesion.
RA Copper: Rolled and annealed copper foil produced from cathode copper, offering different thickness options (12μm, 18μm, 35μm, 70μm).

Dielectric Substrate and Coverlay: Commonly made from polyimide films, which provide high temperature resistance, excellent electrical properties, and good chemical resistance, available in thicknesses of 12.5μm, 20μm, 25μm, and 50μm.

Adhesive Systems: Lamination of copper foil to flexible film is achieved using either thermoplastic or thermoset adhesives, depending on processing requirements and application needs.
