High-Performance 2-Layer RT/duroid 5880 PCBs with Immersion Gold Finish for Advanced Applications
1.Introduction to RT/duroid 5880
Rogers RT/duroid 5880 high-frequency laminates are PTFE composites reinforced with glass microfibers, specifically designed for precision stripline and microstrip circuit applications. The randomly oriented microfibers provide exceptional dielectric constant uniformity, ensuring consistent performance across panels and a wide frequency range. With a low dissipation factor, RT/duroid 5880 laminates are suitable for Ku-band applications and beyond.
These laminates can be easily cut, sheared, and machined to shape, offering resistance to solvents and reagents typically used in etching printed circuits or plating edges and holes.
2. Key Features of RT/duroid 5880:
Dielectric Constant: 2.2 with a tight tolerance of 0.02 at 10 GHz/23°C
Dissipation Factor: 0.0009 at 10 GHz
Temperature Coefficient of Dielectric Constant (TCDk): -125 ppm/°C
Low Moisture Absorption: 0.02%
Coefficient of Thermal Expansion (CTE):
X-axis: 31 ppm/°C
Y-axis: 48 ppm/°C
Z-axis: 237 ppm/°C
Isotropic Material Properties
